PRP TREATMENTS

PRP TREATMENTS

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is a natural treatment that is a great solution for hair loss, skin rejuvenation and under-eye concerns such as dark circles, puffiness and undereye bags. We take a sample of your blood, extract the platelets with a centrifugal device, and then reintroduce them to the skin, triggering the body’s natural healing response.

Before your appointment

Avoid blood thinning medication for two weeks before your procedure and coffee and alcohol for a day or two before to minimise the risk of bruising. It’s also a good idea to take arnica pills, which are available from most health shops. Drink plenty of water on the day of your appointment. With microneedling treatments, you must stop using topical retinol, glycolic acid or vitamin C serums. You should also avoid waxing, bleaching or tweezing

Aftercare
There’s no downtime after PRP and you can carry on with your daily routine, but avoid strenuous activity and alcohol for the first 24 hours after your treatment, direct exposure to the sun or excessive heat for the first couple of days, and caffeine for a day or so after any type of PRP treatment as it can affect blood flow and disrupt the healing process .

With microneedling treatments, you should wash your face and apply your usual face cream, then use a sunscreen of SPF30 or higher as your skin will be more sensitive to UV light.

For hair rejuvenation, we inject the PRP into the scalp using a tiny needle. It’s important to keep your scalp clean so avoid wearing a hat straight after treatment and don’t wash your hair until the next day.

What to expect
We usually recommend a course of 3-6 treatments 4 to six weeks apart for hair loss, then maintenance sessions every 12 months or so depending on the individual.  You may wish to refresh your vampire facial every 3 to 6  months, and your under-eye rejuvenation every 6 months or so.

PRP Facial
During a PRP facial, platelet-rich plasma created from your blood is reintroduced to the skin via microneedling, which enhances penetration and increases collagen and elastin production.  Your platelets are anti-oxidising, hydrating and regenerate tissue, leaving you with naturally fresh, healthy youthful skin. This treatment is also great for reducing acne scars and stretch marks.
On the day, your therapist will discuss whether a microneedling or mesotherapy technique will be the best PRP facial for you.

Under Eye Rejuvenation
Under-eye rejuvenation works exactly like a vampire facial except that the PRP is injected directly into the area under your eyes, allowing the healing process to restore and refresh the skin, reduce eye bags, and make you look less tired.

PRP for hair loss
Hair loss usually occurs because of poor cell renewal in the scalp, so PRP, which stimulates cell production, is an ideal and effective treatment. It works on male and female baldness and alopecia by encouraging hair follicle production and stimulating new growth.
