Polynucleotides, hyaluronic acid boosters like Profhilo and micro-needling, also known as collagen induction therapy, reduce fine lines and rejuvenate your skin, restoring your youthful glow. They also start working immediately, so you’ll see results straight away, but keep working for up to four weeks, improving the effect.
A second session will mean you will look younger and fresher for longer, and it will usually be up to 6 months before you need a top-up.

NEW TO SKIN BOOSTERS?
Before your appointment
Avoid blood thinning medication for two weeks before your procedure and coffee and alcohol for a day or two before to minimise the risk of bruising. It’s also a good idea to take arnica pills available from most health shops. With microneedling treatments, you must stop using topical retinol, glycolic acid or vitamin C serums. You should also avoid waxing, bleaching or tweezing
What to expect on the day
If you have chosen a polyneucleotide or hydro treatment we will clean the face and add a little topical numbing cream. If you are having micro needling, we will clean your skin and then use a serum to help the device glide over your face in tiny circular movements. The treatment isn’t painful but it can be uncomfortable in areas like the forehead and nose, and the serum will ease this discomfort.
Aftercare
There may be some bruising but it’s very unusual. Although your skin won’t bleed, it may look quite red for the first 24 hours and may be quite dry for a day or two.
With microneedling, you should wash your face and apply your usual face cream, then use SPF30 or higher sunscreen as your skin will be more sensitive to UV light. Avoid strenuous activity and alcohol for the first 24 hours after your treatment, direct exposure to the sun or excessive heat for the first couple of days, and caffeine for a day or so after any type of PRP treatment as it can affect blood flow and disrupt the healing process.
What to expect
You’ll start to notice a difference in your skin tone immediately and the effects will increase over the next few weeks depending upon which booster you choose: your practitioner will give you more details on the day. We normally recommend 2-3 sessions about a month apart depending upon which treatment you use with a top up after about 6 months. To treat uneven skin tone, acne scars and other textural issues with microneedling, we may recommend 6 sessions at 4-6 week intervals to keep the skin looking its best.
Polynucleotides
Polyneucleotides are relatively new but are swiftly becoming the skin treatment of choice for those in the know. Made from fragments of salmon DNA that mirror human DNA, polynucleotides are bio-stimulators which naturally improve your skin on a cellular level by boosting elastin and collagen regeneration, restoring tone and elasticity. They also have a wonderfully hydrating effect, so you’ll look younger, fresher and healthier. Polyneucleotides work in areas that Hyaluronic Acid skin boosters can’t, like the lips, forehead, and eye area.
Hydro or Hyaluronic Acid Skin Boosters
Hydro skin boosters such as Profhilo provide immediate results by delivering intense hydration while helping to activate fibroblasts, which support the production of collagen and elastin. The treatment starts working immediately but continues for a few weeks so your skin will get better and better over time. We usually advise two treatments 4 weeks apart and a top-up every 6 months. We use several different boosters so a quick consultation will identify which is the best one for you.
Microneedling
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure that creates tiny controlled punctures in the skin with a handheld device. This is a minimally invasive treatment that regenerates collagen and elastin to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, reduce enlarged pores and acne scars, and treat other textural concerns. It can also help with skin concerns such as rosacea by reducing inflammation and improving circulation.
